Greetings PUSD, No School on Friday, December 1 due to muddy road conditions and the possibility of more rain and snow overnight and throughout the day on Friday.. It will be our first mud day of the school year.

Good evening, Pinon Unified Community, Over the past weekend, an email from a student email account indicated a possible threat to the school campus. Navajo County Sheriff's Department and Navajo Nation Police Department responded to assist with student searches and overall campus security. The law enforcement investigation did not identify this as a credible threat, and no weapon was found. The students students involved were identified, and law enforcement is taking appropriate actions. Classed did proceed as scheduled today. Extra security precautions and personnel were in place at each school site. Pinon Unified does take all threats seriously and will continue to take appropriate actions. Tuesday, November 14, will be a regular day of school.

Good morning PUSD Community, During the 3-day weekend, an email was sent from a student account indicating a possible threat to the school campus. The email message started being shared as staff and students began checking their email and messages this morning. PUSD takes all threats seriously. Navajo Nation PD and Navajo County Sheriff's Department are on site and assisting in the investigation. No weapons have been found, and students are proceeding to class. Additional updates will be posted later this morning.

Happy Thursday Morning Pinon Community, Reminder: Pinon Unified School District is on Early Release Schedule today, May 25th. Buses will depart campus at 1:30pm. Last Day of School is tomorrow, May 26th, also Early Release.

Good evening Pinon Unified Community, On Friday, May 5, Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren signed an executive order amending Public Health Emergency Order No. 2023-001. The new order, 2023-002, lifts the mask mandate for schools and other facilities that has been in place for almost three years. An Arizona law passed last spring makes it illegal for an Arizona public school to have a mask requirement. PUSD continued to require face masks during this school year under the public health orders issued by the Navajo Nation. Now that those orders are lifted, face masks will no longer be required on the PUSD campus. Beginning on Monday, May 8, 2023, face masks will be optional on the PUSD campus. All staff members, students, and visitors that want to continue wearing a mask may do so for as long as they wish.

Good afternoon Pinon Community & PUSD staff. Reminder: When entering PUSD campus between 8:00am - 3:30pm, you are required to make a complete stop at Security Checkpoint to provide your name & destination. Also note, the speed limit on PUSD campus is 15 mph. Thank you in advanced for keeping our campus safe.

Greetings Pinon Community. March 30th will be a Full Day of School with NO Activity Buses, due to snow/rain in the forecast. Stay safe, stay warm.

Good Evening PUSD Community, Friday, March 24, will be a VIRTUAL LEARNING DAY for all students due to extremely muddy road conditions. Many of our bus routes are currently not passable. The campus is open for students that can provide their own transportation. All students do need to follow the procedures for attendance tomorrow. The hope was to have school on campus today, but the current snow, and forecast for rain later this morning, make the roads too muddy to safely run school buses.
